Former Students Share Memories of Sr. Jane Stier, OSU

Ashley Enyeart, Alumna Director at Ursuline Academy, Cincinnati, notified all the Alumna who would have known Sr. Jane during her 10 years (1952-1962) at Ursuline Academy. Below are some of the comments she received from Sr. Jane’s former students.

Thanks for sending this info. Since we live out of town, I never would have known. She was one of my favorite teachers. Class of ‘61

Unfortunately, I cannot attend Sr. Jane's funeral. She taught me Latin 3 and 4 at UA. Sr. Joan in whose honor the writing award is given was Sr. Jane's best friend. Both brilliant women. Class of ‘63

Thank you for notifying me of the death of Sister Jane Stier. I have fond memories of my Senior Year in homeroom with Sister Jane: choosing our class colors of pink and red; making slip covers for the backs of our chairs; and pillows in the window seats. Sister Jane guided us through the college application process with all its angst and uncertainty. She was a true " Ursuline Woman". Class of 61

Thank you for notifying us of Sister Jane's death. She was a special educator, fair, disciplined (which she also taught her students) and fun. Class of ‘56

Thanks so much for sending this. I am in Sanibel, Florida or I would be going to this funeral. Sister Jane was indeed beloved. Our class was her last as senior homeroom mistress before she went off to get her PhD. Class of 62

Ashley, Thank you so much for your email and the obituary for Sr. Jane. She was a wonderful example of grace, faith and beauty. Class of ‘61

I credit Sister Jane for guiding me to the career I have been fortunate enough to experience. I know many others feel the same way. Class of '61
